can some one give me some input on dvd players.I am looking to get one,and havent really had much time to read up on the good, better, best ones.I like Sony, but any good one will do.I dont have surround sound as of yet,but will add that also in the near future.Thanks.

Several places have a great entry level DVD Player, the Toshiba SD1600 I think Safeway/Lowe's grocery stores have this and there's also a Hot Deals thread (search for Toshiba) that has a .com place selling this DVD Player for $149 as well.

Other good brands are Panasonic and Sony.

As indicated above, the Toshiba 1600 is a great player. Mine has been working great over the past three months. I returned the Pioneer '333' to get the Toshiba and am quite glad of my decision. Also, Toshiba currently has a $20 rebate on this player.

Sony DVD players SUCK

Get a Toshiba or Pioneer
Im getting the Pioneer DV-C603 5 disc progressive scan

Even the top of the line Sony DVD wont play anything but CD/DVD

I use the Pioneer reference series and it's exceptional. Had a Panasonic beforehand and find the Pioneer to be better in all ways.

well they may not but they do their primary job very well

The same can be said for Toshiba and Pioneer and just about every other "well known" brand. Ive had an RCA DVD player for 3 years and it plays every disc I throw at it no problem.
