I was coming out of the town where the bar is and a Duty soldier was outside where the dogs are. He had a nice rifle and he couldn't be seen by the other soldiers so I knifed him and took his rifle. Now when I go back, the soldiers try to kill me.

Guess I'll have to load a save before that point.

Also, where do i find the Rad suit? I need to go to the Valley and apparently need the suit as I can't get by the radiation.

This reminds me of a very similar situation at the beginning of Deus Ex. The game actually anticipates the player might try to do that though. 😀

I have not played in a while but, I thought you got the suit from the scientist in Yantar in the dark valley. Stock up as many anti-rad kits as possible before going there.The scientist gives you a an anti-rad suit.

There are many Rad suits hidden in Caches in various places. In one place there are 3 or 4 green suits hidden in one cache. It's really tricky to get to that spot though.

you do get a very nice Rad suit by completing most of the Scientist's quests ... but unless i am mistaken, you get an even nicer 2nd suit - if you do an extra quest for him that gives slightly less radiation protection but gives you a lot more body protection from weapons/environment
