Looks like it doesn't have scaling issues:

Those numbers (from that site I bet no one has ever heard of) completely contradict Guru3D.

Nice try though.

Plenty of people have heard of that site.
Think before you speak.

Well, we can hope the September release of the CATs have proper XFire profiles for Clear Sky in them. :) Still haven't totally read the reviews linked in this thread. Work keeps interfering w/my surfing time. ;)

Oof. Even at only 1440x900 I'd imagine high dynamic lighting and max image quality/max candy no AA is still going to put my GTS into Powerpoint presentation mode. Time to look at a GTX260 or 4870.

Man, this game looks awesome. I never buy games when they first come out, but I might make an exception for this one.

Indeed! I really like Stalker; it's had high replay value for me as I never found the game all that easy. When I first started playing it, the "learning curve" for the accuracy of your weapon annoyed me. But watching it get better and better until I could pick guys off with a single shot was way cool.

Uh, where's the 4870X2 for this test? I would assume that w/the eye candy cranked up, this is where the X2 would shine. Why'd they leave it out?

PC games HW gave some CF or X2 benches .. look up in this thread

i just got 4 games - Crysis Warhead, CoD4 [$30] and GoW [$15] - i got ripped on the Clear Sky price but will do a reverse PM within 2 weeks, i am sure

i will install them this evening and bench away

i guess i need to create custom time demos for Clear Sky .. sigh ..
- ah the work .. the agony ..

:D

. . . excuse me but i have to work now .. i think i will pla .. i mean bench Warhead first, as i might get stuck - searching for many hours for that perfect place to record a demo run - hopefully right near the end of Clear Sky.

Hey guys i just finished playing stalker CS and i can tell you that
4870 x2 scales very well at 1920 x 1200
I was gettin an average of 45 fps with maximum fps in the high 70s and minimum in the low 30s.

I had everything maxed out with dx 10 lightning, maximum AF and AA. I actually
set the detail on maximum and then i went it and placed the vision distance, object detail, AA and AF all the way to the right, lol

My only complaint ( besided the fact that the game is very buggy) is that
sometimes when u start in the clear sky base my frames would drop in the high 10s for some reason that i dont know (prolly power play is acting funny), but as soon as i was gettin out of the clear sky base, the game would stay in the 40s range.

I will post some screenshots taken with fraps to back my statement if u guys want.
But for any of you in doubt about scaling in stalker with a 4870 x2, rest assured that the card will give good fps, at least up to 1920 x 1200 - which is what im using.
The card that i have is a sapphire 4870 x2 at stock speeds, and a q9550 at 3.4ghz
