Today my dumbass roommates thought it would be entertaining to toss a damn footbal around inside the apartment and eventually one of them hits my drink and it spills on my laptop...brand new no more than half a month old..purchased from new egg. My question is...all seems fine but there are two blotches at the base of the monitor...what appears to be a stain of some sort....how can i get rid of this? Hair dryer? let it dry on its own? or take it to geek squad to let em do their thing? I would hate to take it to geek squad but no one is willing to pay for the god damn damages done to this thing and im completely pissed off about this

Sounds like the drink got between the layers of the screen. Only way to fix that is replace the screen.

yeah I put a fan infront of it and let it sit overnight to dry and well one of the stains is almost completely gone but there is still some left on the other stain. I took off the cover thinking it was a glossy cover covering the lcd screen but it isnt...its the monitor itself. Where can you purchase lcd screens at?

Check google. There are several retailers that sell replacment screens. Just make sure you get the right one for your model.

yeah ill really try the sandpaper route....

on a side note the guy isnt wanting to fess up to what he did and says he has no money and is giving me these sob stories about his dad not having a job and etc...not my problem. Im taking him to small claims court to fix the damage done to my laptop since he so kindly proceeded to tell me to "sue him"

check with your credit card company, if you bought on CC. Some cards offer lost, stolen or damage insurance for a short time after you purchase an item. I'm pretty sure with my amex if anything happens to anything I buy before, ummm, maybe 1 month? I can get it replaced.

... I can't remember now, it might be 1 week.

Your last resort should be opening up the machine and voiding your warranty
