stable MB recommendations

I've been struggling with stability issues with my current Tyan Tiger 133 MB and am at the point of giving up on it. Besides, it's a good excuse to upgrade my system. So, I'm looking for a good and stable new MB. I'm thinking I should go for one of the KT266A based MBs and I'm wondering what people recommend.

I was also wondering if I could continue to use my existing 512MB SDR RAM in a DDR slot until I buy some new RAM?

Thanks.

No, sdr will not fit in a ddr slot! However, some MB's have slots for both, allowing you
to use one or the other, but not both. Try the ECS K7S5A. It's inexpensive and stable
if set up properly with a decent power supply.

You cannot use SDR RAM in a DDR SDRAM slot.

If you insist on using SDR, I suggest the ASUS A7A266-E, based on the c0 revision of the ALi Magik1 Chipset. Very stable, performance on par with the KT266A.

I agree. Can't go wrong with Asus.
