Quick question - is there any evidence that a Celeron 1.7 Willamette is any less stable than a Northwood P4?
I'm puttin together a simple box for a client that will act as a database server - for Access, and a fax server using a USR external modem. Potentially, we could port the db to SQL Server or the MSDE (kinda like SQL Server lite). Either way, I just need a new box that is server-like stable, but I doubt we'll stress it at all with these two tasks. It will use an Intel-made i845G board
So, can I safely save $120 CAD with no stability penalty, or are there other issues besides the lack of cache?
Right now, I've spec'd an Antec case SX830 or Performace Plus 660 case - I suppose I could save money there as well, but I'm right near my budget.
What would Brian Boitano do?
Thanks,
Craig
