So what's the big deal about the stabbing quips on these forums? Seems as harmless as the "in Russia" thing or the "killing kittens" jokes.

If saying "st@b" can get you banned, can we please make that "In Russia" garbage a bannable offense too? At least st@bbing was somewhat funny (although people took it too seriously), but "In Russia" is just lame and irritating.

No st@bbing isn't even remotely humorous. At best it's moronic and those who would take the time to post that crap usually are the same idiots that post other nonsense that has nothing to do with the topic of the thread. Same with that "Russia" BS. It might have been slightly humorous at first and kudos to the first individual that said it, but those who have started to use it themselves are nothing more than unimaginative buffoons who couldn't come up with a post that's halfway original themselves so they imitate others like new born primates .

I tried to use the stabbing word to no avail in a legitimate post to describe an action. This form of moderation has gone too far. As a matter of fact, it down right retarded. an insult to our collective intelligence. we don't have minds of little elementary school children. I know we as users have no say here cuz it isn't our forums, but come on, use a little bit of judgement here. can't say the word "stabbing" or any remote forms of it? puh-leaseeeeeeeeeee. lame.

If people would stop acting like little school children things like this wouldn't be necessary.

I find it and the "do her in the butt" comment massively offensive. There's nothing "humorous" in the least about jokes that involve violence towards women.
I'd bet a $100 that if ladies started suggesting that problematic husbands and boyfriends be bobbetized, the hue and cry around here would be deafening.

I agree with the butt reference, but how you are twisting "stabbing" to be a term in any way associated with violence towards women? "Stabbibg" as in intercourse? If that is your reasoning, you are reading far too much into it, I have never seen it used in that fashion.

I'll take that bet, as we would shrug it off for what it is. Humor, whether it agrees with your tastes or not.

I've seen threads where people will talk about girl problems. You guessed it, people suggested that the person "st@b" them. Not funny imo.

But it's funny if they use it towards a man?

bah...whatever...

You can only humor some of the people some of the time, but you can't humor some of the people some of the time. ;) So, we'll just have to let the mods decide what's funny and what's not. Unfortunately, George Carlin isn't a mod here. :)

And I've seen the term used in regards to men.. And dogs, cats, cartoon characters, etc..

What's the point?

The point is is it's humor, and the vast majority of ATOT liked it, used it, and didn't see anything wrong with it. And throwing in the "women violence" card is despicable.

I hope no one ever referred to "st@bbing" a black person, we'll have Jesse Jackson all over us.

I never said it was. In fact, I didn't find it funny then either. I know it was a joke, but I found its usage mildly disturbing. That's it. No more, no less. Agree or disagree.

I would never make remarks involving violence towards any part of the male anatomy and then have the nerve to try to pass it off as a harmless"joke" if a man complained (and rightfully so) about it,let alone to have the sheer gall to imply that somehow not liking it meant that the man was devoid of a sense of humor.
