What?! For real? That can't be......if they can make 10 jason movies and 7 (8?) mike meyers movies then they can keep making Star Trek movies till I die. It's not like they're swinging from rooftops and hauling 50 pounds worth of gear in these movies so the age of the actors won't matter. They can keep making them till they're all old and in wheel chairs for all I care. They better not stop making Star Trek movies or someone is going to pay some serious hell.
One thing you don't do is piss off a Star Trek fan by denying him his Enterprise.
Oh yes, heads will roll mark my words. When I rule the world there will be a channel devoted to Star Trek and it will be written in stone that a new Star Trek movie will come out every 2 years.
Oh yeah, and they'll bring Sisko back from the dead and make DS9: Part Deux. Sisko, Quark, and Garak....they'll act 'till they die of old age.

They could do something with Voyager, now that it's back in the Alpha quadrant. Have some Alpha quadrant movies based around it.
Well...actually Voyager is kinda in the same Timeline as DS9...and the last episode of DS9 pretty much royally screwed up that time frame didn't it?
That settles it.
They need a new series, set after TNG/Voy/DS9. Enterprise-G or something. Then they can have movies based on that.

That still sucks that they're killing off TNG movies. If they can make 6 Original movies then you better believe that they can make 6 TNG movies. Rodenberry had to have a vault somewhere with loads of Star Trek ideas. They need to go raid his house and find this vault and start cranking out more movies.

how is this good news. i still love Picard, Data, Worf, Crusher, and Will Riker. just like Cougar stated, if they can make 6+ Original Series movies, why the hell can't Rodenberry be creative enough to make 6 TNG movies.

EDIT: RossMan, that is the reason why i hated DS9. I hate the Ferengi with a passion. Dax (sp?) was pretty hot though. 😉

Yeah, the Ferengi are one of my favorite alien species. I LOVED the episode when Quark, Nog, and Rom time travel back to ~1950's earth (I think that's what the time frame was). When Quark tried to wheel and deal with the humans I nearly died.

Yeah, Roddenbarry's dead, that's why I suggested they find his secret vault. I believe Berman is in charge now so maybe we need to start beating down his door. Maybe if we picket outside his house we can squeeze out of him at least 1 more movie after Nemesis.

LOL! Was wondering if someone was going to point that out. By the way, some of those original Star Trek movies were pretty awful (The Final Frontier, anyone?). Then again, I thought Generations was pretty stupid too. Nemesis looks like it's going to be pretty dark, which is what I think Star Trek needs to remain interesting. Space isn't just full of people with rubberized foreheads wearing goofy looking jumpsuits..
