Sorry, don't spend much time there. Compared to downtown Mpls, there isn't much to do. I've only been here a couple of years, so excuse my deformation of your beloved Xcel Energy Center and the science museum. Nightlife in downtown Mpls is way better than downtown St Paul.

yes, I would totally agree, but Grand Ave (and Shelby) is quite nice in terms of night life right? I could imagine MPLS would have larger parties and clubs, but hey, I was in Minnesota alone, so I don't think I would go clubbing by myself. I was a sight-seeing, photo-taking tourist. :)

You should have wandered over to the lakes. If you wanted to stick in Minneapolis over to calhoun, harriot and isles (all in or around uptown). Nice spot to go walking around when the weather is nice. If you want to see some large homes, and some really nice properties you have to find a way to get out on a boat on lake Minnetonka (the lake is huge so if you want to see a decent bit of it you better allow a few hours. Maybe next time eh? Next time, like others have said stop at the fair if you are there, it is about 8 to get in I think and there is tons of food. The Steal County fair is a fun free one (bit smaller, but I think it is one of the largest free fairs in the region) about an hour out of the cities a week before the state fair if you ever are looking for something cheaper.
