Data's Day is pretty fun, and so is that episode where he dates that engineering chick.

Well he is fully functional.

It figures the one man that sleeps with Tasha Yar and it has to be a battery operated love machine. 😉

curse you.

now i will have nightmares of brent spiner singing "i'm just a love machine".

That said, I need to know, in your opinions the 4 or 5 best episodes to show her so she can get some idea of the series... (I guess we could watch through all the movies, but I wanted to start with something that might draw her in more.)

Just one episode should do it -- "The Inner Light". Hard to follow though.. others go in different directions.

almost the entire bridge crew that's held throughout the series is introduced in the first episode, and it sets up the necessary idea of the "trial" that the last episode continues/concludes.

It also shows the new Enterprise tricks. Separating the saucer section and everything. The first episode's a must...

TNG was such a good show. it sucks that some people won't even consider it because of the star trek geek stigma attached with it, like my gf. she'll watch other geeky shows though

DS9 was better.

Any episode with Q = instawin.

Regardless of the series this holds true

Yeah, except for the Q episodes being retarded in Voyager. That is for another topic however.

Anyway, ST NG was a freakin good show.

A few good episodes I don't see mentioned so far:

Schisms
Frame of Mind
The Pegasus (Enterprise decloaking = win)
Genesis

the episode which data is made a temporary captain in the war against the romulans and he disobeys picards order.

the episode where they all have that virus that actives some gene that makes them degenerate into more primitive forms.
the episode where lore takes over the abandoned group of borg and then "brainwashes" data
the last episode was one of my favorites of all time
the "there are 4 lights" was awesome
the one where Q let picard go back in time and allow himself to stop himself from getting stabbed in the heart as a cadet
where picard becomes a borg
the one where they are at some sorta temporal rift, and save an older version of the enterprise and then tasha yar is suddenly alive but then goes to join the old crew since she wasn't even supposed to be on the new enterprise anyway.
i also really enjoyed the TNG movies
