What a turd IMHO, as America has been changing for the better after its formation in 1776 as we as a nation have been including and extending equal rights to many Minorities neglected by our founding fathers. As it took a bloody civil war to extend full rights to former slaves, and later in a happier bloodless time circa 1912 or so, American females finally won then right to vote. After sixty or so years of feminist struggle and ridicule. Then we had the American fight for the working man's right to collective bargaining. And in the 1950's and 60's, we had to refight the Jim Crowe doctrine of separate but equal civil rights crapola in most of the solid south.
As I would argue America is the better for it even if there have been winners and losers in the process. But the losers need to get over it, when the tide of public opinion turns against them. As the other new fight turns to our smallest minority yet, the approximately 4% of our population that are Gay and Lesbians. As I ask from the perspective of someone in the 96% American majority, if I in a hetrosexual marriage find
marriage conveys a set of powerful rights and obligation that promote social stability, why should I deny those same marriage rights to Same Sex Couples? Especially when those same sex couples don't threaten my heterosexual marriage in any way. In short I feel there is something purely evil for anyone to go way way way out of their way to make an American minority life more miserable than it is already.
As wah wah wah to you, Dwyer, you fought for a stinking cause and thankfully lost. Get over it! Your fellow allies learned for the better that they were on the wrong side of the social issue, and did not throw you under any buses. But if you, Dwyer, choose to throw your self under the bus in your own ignorance and denial, please don't say its a legitimate excuse to resort to socially unacceptable and irresponsible alcoholism that makes you a social menace to everyone in America. As you nearly killed a child in your drunken boating and may have left her maimed for life. Dwyer, I don't care if you drink yourself to death, but at least have the common decency to stay at home and stay off the public roads and rivers.
