SSL questions

I have setup and online form which asks for a credit card number. Obviously I want to put this form onto a secure section of the site.

My hosting provider wants to sell me a SSL certificate for $70. Is this a good deal? Are there different kinds of certificates, and are some better than others? If so, what should I be looking for? What might I have to do to set it up?

If your gonna be taken cc #'s you better have a ssl certficate from a trusted 3rd party.

Technically all are equal to the software, but as with any entity selling something some are more trusted and reliable than others.
