HI
Just curious.
I'm thinking about replacing the old primary or master drive in my desktop with a SSD.
I have a second drive installed in the desktop that I use for backups and storage.
If I replace the master or primary drive with a SSD do I have to make jumper setting changes?? I just bought a Samsung 250 gig ssd and didn't see any jumper connections for making the ssd a master, etc.

If the machine is new enough to support SATA drives (like an SSD), then there is no need to set Master/Slave jumpers. Those were only for IDE devices.

I never really paid it much attention back in the day, but talk about two terms that would not have been created today for configuring drives on an IDE cable ;)
