Hey guys,

I have been closely following SSDs now. I really like the new 300GB VelociRaptor, however it still will cost me about 270$ with shipping. Now, every few weeks I read new announcements on faster SSDs. For example, the recent announcement from OCZ and Intel (especially intel) on their new SSDs.

I am a huge fan of fast HDDs. However, I am really holding on the purchase because I don't want to buy the VelociRaptor then 3 months later, an SSD drive comes out that has less space but 3x faster.

What do you guys think? Are some of you also holding out on the SSD or VelociRaptor purchase?

I am holding out for the Intel models. The OCZ Core series are cheap, but seem to have some issues. If Intel's presentations are to be believed, they have mitigated most of the issues with random write performance that are plaguing the current crop of SSDs.

I've also been following the SSD's. I'm waiting for reviews on Intel's 120GB SSD.

I currently have a 150GB Western Digtial 10K RPM and I've been looking out for SSD's. Seems like every month there is a company coming out with faster SSD's. But I think Intel's is the fastest I've heard of.... Hopefully, pricing won't be too expensive.
