SSD Recommendation-

Hey all,

So I want to give my father's Lenovo desktop a little speed boost, so I figure a SATAIII SSD is the way to go. With that in mind, what's good nowadays? What brands should I avoid like the plague? I haven't kept up.

My priorities:

1. Reliability
2. Value
3. (Distant 3rd that is...) Speed

Probably looking from 256GB+, since he has a hard time remembering not to install random programs on his boot drive.

You value reliability first? Get Intel or Samsung. Intel 730, or Samsung 850 EVO/Pro.

Those two and the ARC 100 from OCZ which is a great drive.

Whatever you do, stay the hell away from any planar TLC drive.
