SSD random freezes

Just bought one of the super talent SSD's that were onsale. I took out all my hard drives so that the SSD is the only one for now.

I updated the firmware to the latest. Installed windows 7. I am not getting freezing every few seconds or so that last up to 10 seconds. I have AHCI set to IDE in my bios.

Any ideas on this freezing?

Using Maximus formula flashed to the extreme, 8 gb ram, E8400@3.6

Hmm, I don't know the answer but I am interested in seeing further replies as I also ordered one of these drives.

I'm not sure if I missed something while setting it up or what. I'm hoping someone here has an answer.

Hop over to the super talent forums. There is a thread going about V1711 having corruption issues with that drive and Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

I will. I have another super talent in the box still. I may try that with a older firmware and seeing if that makes a difference as well.

Unless I'm remembering the models wrong, the supertalent, UCZ vertex, and Gskill falcon drives are basically identical in a given size. Browse the forums that are the most active (OCZ probably).

Supertalent ME = OCZ Vertex = Gskill Falcon

You shouldn't be seeing any freezes though. That was a first gen SSD problem that was solved with lots of onboard cache. Try the simple stuff first, like a different sata cable.

I will. I haven't had a chance to do much since the freezing. Could any of my controller drivers or whatnot be a problem as well?

Well, I think we got it. I had it on my Third SATA slot. I moved it to Slot I and it seems to be working like a rocket now. Time will tell.

Thanks so much for all your suggestions.

Blinky thanks so much for that suggestion.

I also bought the shell shocker drive, but a day after the lowest price. So, which is it, then? The corruption issue or just a freak chance of using the wrong sata slot?

Soon as I moved it to the First SATA slot, I had no more problems. Runs smooth now. Really fast.
