SSD Raises CPU temperature?

I just installed a SSD to my computer and ever since, my idle temperatures have gone up 2-3 degrees C. Is this the SSD fault or did I bump my CPU heatsink while I was installing it....

I don't think so, I even increased my fan speeds. All I really did was put in the SSD and then suddenly temperatures go up.

Maybe you did something like knocked a fan plug loose or moved around cables in a way to block airflow?

Maybe, I'm going to check it out. I'm wondering if maybe the SSD just requires more CPU power so maybe the CPU is working extra hard for the SSD?

Nope... unless you have a bizarre AHCI driver issue or something.

Not more CPU usage just for the sake of being an SSD, but consider that if your SSD is helping get data to your CPU faster than it was before then the CPU itself is now able to do more work in the same time and that is going to result in more power consumption and higher temps.

Well if the cpu was working and not having to wait for data that could be true, this is idle temps tho!?
