ssd optimization question

I'll be getting a 120 gb intel 320 ssd in a couple days from newegg, and I just wanted to make sure I set it up correctly the first time so I won't have to do it again. I'll be starting fresh with Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate. I will also have a 1 tb regular hard drive. I was thinking I would use the optimization guide on ssdreview.com, but it doesn't mention anything about moving temporary folders or anything to the other hard drive. Any advice on what how I should set this up?
 
There is nothing to optimize, IMO. I've had my Intel G2 for almost 2yrs and I didn't do any tweaking apart disabling the Superfetch. It's still as good as the day I bought with a 100% life remaining.

Be careful with that tweaking. I've seen ridiculous tweakings on OCZ forums and I think it's a BS.

Thanks for the advice. I'll keep that in mind.
 
If it's an Intel drive and you're loading Win7 then all you need to do after installing the OS is load the Intel SSD toolkit. It will do the rest of the work for you.

Despite what lots of people might claim there isn't much tweaking that can be done. And for all the love of God do not start running stress tests on the drive. That will decrease the life.

Running a few benchmarks to make sure it's moving fast is ok, right?
 
A few speeds tests are fine. Just don't run a ton of them or stress tests like the guy who accidently left one running over night.

And yeah the Intel 320 25nm drives are rated the same as the 34nm drives.

That's fine. Just don't burn through a few TB during the testing.

Some people are testing the write endurance of various SSDs (on another forum) and the 320 is holding out pretty well, so you could testing for a while if you really wanted.. They wrote over 10TB and the ssd is still at 95%.
