SSD fragmented

I just got a larger SSD (120GB) and I want to use Acronis to copy my current 80GB SSD, but that drive is 22% fragmented.

I know I am not supposed to defrag it, but when I copy it to the bigger drive, will that (larger) drive also be fragmented as well?

From everything I have seen and read fragmentation on an SSD is really not an issue since the data is stored and read in a completely different manner from a traditional spinning disk and data access times are so fast. The onboard controller and firmware handles cell wear and data retention and depending on the SSD make and model there may be a drive maintenance tool to help with wear leveling and clearing up things on the drive as they are written and deleted on a daily basis.

If you are going to be moving to a larger drive the only thing I would be concerned about is proper drive alignment.

Intel SSD Toolbox is a nice utility.:)

Drive alignment is not necessarily just cloning regular drive to SSD it is also OS related as well since XP does not properly do it by default for an SSD - you either have to help it with some type of disk utility or do it manually from within the OS before you clone the drive.

I am using Windows 7 64 as OS.

Yes, I like the Toolbox app...it is fast. I do not see any ill effect on anything at all by the fragmentation on the drive.
