Sorry I did not realize this was a deals thread.
Anyway Crucial M500 480 GB 289.00 US

Sorry Hulk I posted a bad link but thanks, I will probably wait it out and save up for the 960 GB !
(obviously I am not real well versed about computers)

Are you, nwo and john3850 talking about Intel's Smart Response, or is there something else I should be aware of? (When I read "cached drive", I thought of the hybrid drives.)

Yes, that's exactly what I am talking about. There is also some third party ways to cache a HDD with a SSD without having the correct intel chipset, so a lot of different hardware configurations can cache a HDD now.

That's a pretty nice price. Adorama is a highly regarded camera retailer. Probably second only to B&H. So I think they should be as safe as an eBay seller gets.

Agreed, I purchased a refurb Nikon camera from Adorama a few months ago. The camera arrived within a few days, as described and works perfectly.

I bought a different sized Evo from them via eBay. No problems. It shipped in a padded bag, IIRC, but that should be enough.

BTW, note the sticky post at the top of this topic. 😉 Actually, I don't know the background behind that, but it's there.

IIRC :

ebay won't pay a referral to anandtech thus no ebay sales listed here even if it is newegg or any major company on ebay as a buy- it-now.

I could be wrong about this but I read it somewhere. If I am wrong please feel free to point it out I will delete the post.

Using some "thank you" codes from Newegg I can grab a Samsun 840 Evo 500GB SSD for $278. That's $0.56/GB. I've been out of the SSD loop recently and I don't see this specific drive in this thread (besides on ebay...). Is that a good price?
