SSD concerns

So, I just got a SSD. I run several VMs with programs that begin on startup. I expected at least some change between "power on" and the start of those programs, BUT, so far I have seen zero increase in speed with a SSD. Wondering if my system has a bottlekneck elsewhere I need to take care of or if I am looking at/for the wrong things.

Well, i was basing it on the speed at which the VMs go from "power on" to fully loaded and launching startup applications. I also tried moving various programs over to the SSD and launching them from the HDD vs the SSD and the times were within a second of each other.
 
What SSD?
Is your OS running from the SSD?
What is your Win7 performance score on the SSD?

Did you do anything like move your pagefile to the regular HD?
 
What was your old mechanical HDD? If you were running a VelociRaptor then you won’t see much difference unless you get into heavy I/O.
 
I run a lot of VMs and have several SSDs. To be honest, I haven't noticed that much difference in the startup times with an SSD. My VMs all startup pretty quickly (they are all TinyXP) even when I run them from an external USB HDD. I have noticed that SSD allow me to multitask better while running a VM, especially is running more than 1 VM.
