SSD - 64GB vs. 128GB performance.

I'm looking at jumping on the SSD bandwagon, and Frys has the Patriot Torqx 64GB for about $205.

Something I read somewhere has me thinking that the 64GB version would not be as fast as the 128GB version because (roughly) "there are half as many chips, ergo performance wouldn't be as high."

My googling skills are low today, and I can't find the answer to my question (in particular, keeping the Patriot drive / controller as part of equation.)

Bueller?

You've got it reversed. More space usually means more memory chips, which usually means more channels. More channels translates to better write performance.

Most of the 128GB models also feature added cache to improve performance.
