bird feeders are a problem with bears around. I suggest giving up on the bird feeding for a while.
Out at the beach property, the fish and game officer said to take ours down after we told them about the bear scat there.
Actually we haven't fed the birds for most of the summer... the wife just put up the feeder 3 days ago. The bear must have just found it this morning.
