Just happy to say that I got my squat rack 2 weeks ago and since I got it I've spent 1-2 weeks learning form.

Yesterday I did my first real workout. 200 pounds, 5 sets, 5 reps. Going to increase it by 5 pounds each workout via Strong Lists methodology.

The beauty is that I wat doing nice full squats. My legs are fatigued today and it feels awesome.

Love it!

Form is admitadly not perfect but I think I have most of the pieces figured out. How to put the bar on my back properly was huge and alot of the 2 weeks learning form.

Enjoy!

I loved doing squats as well. Nothing I've ever done gives you the same amount of pump or exhaustion. I was ecstatic with each new personal best.

This. I did a big fist pump today when I finished my fifth set of five at 125 lbs. People looked at me a little wierd, but I couldn't care less. I set a new personal best every day. At the end of the workout my legs are on fire, and I'm thinking, "How the hell am I going to add five more pounds next time?!" I come back in two days though, and it's easier than I'd expected.

Also, getting the bar under my shoulder blades - the low bar position - was tricky for me at first too. I started standing in front of the bar and leaning under it instead of just standing right under it. I kind of figured it out by accident, but now everything is great!

My new motto is, "knees out ass out."

Blarg squats. So good but so hard. Just hit >300 today for the first time(305). Gonna try to get 2x body weight one day(320). Lifting that much kinda scares me, it seems like so much can go wrong.

Same here, I've settle with just doing my body weight on the bar. I figure that is a functional number, and most everything else is just 'wanna'

I have also been doing back squats now that I have access to a gym with a rack. Today was my second time ever doing them; this time I got up to bodyweight for a set of five. Months ago, before I took a break from gym, I was doing front squats and never managed to lift more than this... back squatting is super strong in comparison.

Just remember to do the squats properly otherwise you won't hit your ass. I've been doing 1.5x my bodyweight for quite a while, but noticed I was compromising my form once I got heavier.

Do it right.
