I'm migrating one of our databases from pure Access 2k to a combination of an Access 2k front end and a SQL Server 2k back end. I installed everything (SQL Server, etc) on my Win2k laptop fine and got the split application working. I'm now trying to get it working on our NT server.
I've installed SQL Server 2k on it, and then just imported my test database from my laptop. I adjusted my linked tables in the client piece to look at the new database. Anyway, I started it up and everything worked fine (queries, reports, etc) until I tried to do any updates.
I'm getting: "Cannot Update. Database or Object is Read-Only"
I have a feeling this has to do with the folder permissions I've setup on the NT Server, since the SQL server user permissions ported over fine.
Currently I've given change permissions to my user ID for the folder with the database's on it (which I put on the RAID drives) but not shared it. But I've tried a lot of combinations for sharing and full permissions and no luck. I get the same error when I'm logged on the server as well...
Any thoughts?
