I was reading conflicting information some say that sql memory limit is what ever the OS limit is others say there is a limit for the different versions. I was wondering if anyone knew a link that had the definite answer or knew offhand themselves.

oh damn i was hoping to use 72gb with standard. i guess i can let the o/s spare some ram for cache/whatever.

Ya I am ending up going enterprise for both server and sql because of that. Quick question though if they are x64 why is there a ram limitation like that when windows 7 has 192GB?

isn't that per instance?

Lol the dl380 G7 server cost less than MSRP on enterprise edition base 2008 R2 🙂 not all of us pay list price
