First a little background..
We are in the digital signage business and our primary software allows the use of databases to store configurations such as screen size, where the content will be displayed etc. etc.
So... having zero knowledge about SQL and server 08, i managed to trial and error(and google) my way to setting up a server running a domain with sql running and database email set up.
It all works (security wise, probably the most hackable system ever), now i just need to set up the alert agent to send an email whenever someone modifies the database contents, as long as something is changed, an email will be sent.
How do i accomplish this? And also, what is the best possible way to learn SQL besides taking a course because that's too expensive for me and since google isn't the best way to learn SQL either.
