Spyware Problem

I've had him run Ad Aware, Spybot, and Norton's AV 2004, even in safe mode, and we still can't get rid of this one file. It forces his web page to start off at one of those nifty search engine pages and he can't change it or get rid of the file even if he manually deletes. I told him to go into the registry as Symantec suggests but he doesn't even have the key's they're mentioning.

The file name is : zmumy.dll and Norton's recognizes it as adware.winshow.

Any ideas?

Obviously. Are you being serious or funny?

Oh well, he says it didn't work. Thanks though. It's an interesting program that I'm going to try out a little while longer for myself.

Check out the sticky at the top of the software forum. He's been hijacked. Follow those instructions exactly.

There are only four programs you need to get rid of any spyware.

Spybot S&D
Adaware
HijackThis
CWShredder

If those 4 don't work, and it's not a virus (Read: Get AVG), then you're pretty much f***ed
