Spyware? HELP ME!!!!!!!

Ok, well, last week Internet Explorer was fine, then the next day it was messed up. I would type in a url and the page saying that i typed it in wrong would come up. You know the "This page cannot be displayed" one. well if i typed in www.google.com it would come up in the address bar "http:///20%www.google.com/

well i looked online and found it was related it to a tvm.exe program. i went to some sites and removed it. Now when i type in an address, say, www.google.com it will go through a bunch of different addresses like
www.www.google.com.edu
www.www.google.com.org
www.www.google.com.gov
etc......

Can anybody help me?>????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Try going to Tools > Internet Options to open the familiar Internet Options panel, then go to the Content tab, hit the AutoComplete button and clear its memory, does that fix it?

Bigger picture: might be good to get SpyBot Search & Destroy installed, update it, immunize the system and scan for more of that stuff. http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

Nope, didn't work, any other suggestions?
Try clearing your recently-used-documents list and your browser History next. Did you do an anti-spyware scan yet?

hope that helps

I believe that wupdater.exe item is a Bad Thing that keeps dragging junk back in. Boot into Safe Mode and run Spybot S&D 1.3 and see if it finds stuff, perhaps. I expect Schadenfroh will also look in on this thread and he has lots more experience with removing spyware. 🙂

thanks mech, that helped, thank you for everyones help, my computer has now been fixed, spybot solved the problem.
