The IS is already a pretty light car anyway.

The weight bias may not be affected all that much - I believe the I-6 in the IS300 has an iron block, and the 4.3L V-8 is aluminum. God knows BMW has done well enough in sports-car racing with their V-8-powered M3. I still find the IS cars a bit frumpy in styling, but this thing should really move.

thank you for a reasoned reply.

as we all know, the accord's steering is thrown off quite a bit by the v6. throwing a v8 into it would be worse. you're right, the aluminum should help the IS quite a bit.

Well what do you expect, the Accord is FWD so all the drive train gear is up front hanging over the front axel along with all the steering gear. FWD + heavy engine = bad. RWD alleviates that problem somewhat.

A good rule of thumb for whenever we see the IS430 hit the States is when our northern friend gets it first.
