I was thinking if you're going to be buying a 24" LCD and really dish the bucks out then I'd figure you want to make sure this thing was calibrated great.
Well I ran across the Spyder2express:

Would this be a great tool for doing such a thing, is there really a need for this and if so and this is not the tool to use, then who makes the best for monitor calibration.

Hmm didn't like what I read there:
The Spyder2 exhibits two quirks. First, it is slow. You can make a sandwich and read most of a daily paper in the time it takes to measure a monitor.
Looks like the ColorEyes Display, to be a better application.
