It's really a double edged sword.

One on hand, fans want to stick with traditional and keep it under the Nissan name.
On the other hand, Nissan has never sold a $50k+ car and I'm not sure they can.
I mean, Chevy has the Corvette, but the Skyline/GT-R name doesn't exactly have the same heritage as the Corvette does here in the US.

Infiniti also wants/needs a halo car.
