Wow,
It looks like a Grand Cherokee got the role in a bondage movie...
Nice leather suit...

IFS. :disgust:

The current Grand is a fairly good handling SUV even with SFA and they go and do that. Just wait til the 2007 Wrangler. Its a freaking liberty shortened some. IFS and IRS. :frown:

It'd be pretty hard to improve on the looks of the current design. That's one sexy SUV, plus you can get it dirty :)

Another nail in the casket of an american legend. Soon it will be landrover or toys only if you an offroad vehicle. I'm surprised they let the wrangler rubicon out.

i disagree. Soon, no vehicles will be offroad worthy. Hell, the Range Rover is now sporting independent suspension too. All the hardcore yota fans swap in solid front axles.

They sold pretty much all the Rubicons they made, including the overpriced tomb raider edition. That should have been a clue. Oh well, i guess the current stuff becomes collectors editions.

In theory it sounds cool. But it's kind of like being a cop. Sure it's great when your shooting a bank robber from your car window during a 120MPH chase, but that kind of thing doesn't happen very often. Or, to be more direct, the role of a test driver is so mundane, repetative, and tedious that it would make you look forward to getting car sick, because then you can get out of the car to throw up.

On the flipside, you get to see and drive some really cool cars

No no no no, I just mean with the way they've been neutering the jeep line, I'm shocked that put out the bad ass machine that is the rubicon. I would have figured that would have been scrubbed. Solid axles, 44s with lockers....mmmmmmmmm

At the last part it mentions a CG image mock up.....but it doesn't show the picture. Anyone seen it?

Our computer-generated image shows how the Grand Cherokee could look, with a larger and more rectangular interpretation of the traditional Jeep grille (inspired by the future corporate looks defined by the 300C) and overlaid circular headlights (in line with the looks of the new Dodge Ram and Durango).

At least it's got a solid rear axle. Much as hardcore jeepers hate the idea of an IFS Jeep JC it appears to be the way everyone is going.

Hmmmmm, I really want to see what the new body looks like...my friend that works for Chrysler, and has done some testing on the new GC, said that the changes are about as drastic as the last generation->generation change was.

Stupid body cladding.
