agreed. The TSX is the last honda I have really liked the styling of.
Last one I like was the last generation of Prelude. I wished I had gotten one too, 'cause you don't see that many on the road.

Mazda 3 called...it wants it's taillights back.

Aside from that, its very European looking (almost Peugot-like.) I like the "muscular bulges".

Looking at this picture

Text

Look, at the rear driver tire. It looks like they might have went with a torsion bar instead of the multilink setup for the rear suspension

WTF why is everyone so negative? Try picturing it without the camo and its not a bad looking car at all! And look on the brightside...that backside is so slippery smooth I dare anyone to find a way to attach an overgrown wing to that!!

Doesn't look like a torsion bar to me. It would go straight across if that was the case, and it ends close to the wheel.

It's the sharp angle that it takes before it gets to the wheel. It reminds me of a Passat/A4 setup which uses a torsion bar.

They going to put a decent engine in the thing? I drove the '05 low-end Civic and it was crap. I put my foot down to the floor and nothing happened for like 10sec.

Honda needs to compete with the Korean companies like Hyundai. The Elantra is the same price as the Civic with all the bells and whistles and has a 2.0l 130hp engine to boot.

Not only Hyundai...

(HP for base Models)
Focus 138hp
Neon 132hp
Cobalt 140hp
3 148hp
Spectra 130hp
Corolla 130hp

Having a 127hp engine for the top line Honda is not a good think

No kidding. By the time you add everything it's >$17k, which is no good.

Kia Spectra uses Hyundai suspension and engine but costs a little more. I am looking seriously at the Elantra Hatchback as my next car. Whole deal with ABS, Traction Control, Sport Suspension, Front and Side airbags for <$15k.

The Cobalt looks interesting. Too bad it's a Chevy. No more American cars for me.

You mean independent torsion bar? I thought you meant tortion beam like Corolla.
As long as it's independent setup, it should be fine.

And which has the highest mileage of the lot? That's right, the Civic. 😛

Honda's never tried to make the baseline vehicle a competitor in the HP wars - they care more about working the hamsters to their fullest potential. Every generation the engines get bigger and the mileage improves. 😛

The latest spin off the rumour mill is that there's a shift to B-series (DOHC for all), the base Civics will have a 1.8L, and the K20 will be paying a visit to the top-of-the-line models.

The torsion bar does allow some movement, but not as much as a multilink suspension.

I don't know how people can drive those little engines. 115hp is barely enough. I used to have a '86 Subaru with a dinky 95hp engine. The low-end '05 Civic was no better. Once you drive a decent car there's no going back.

I wouldn't go for less than 130hp at this point. My current car is 155hp- I loathe going down, but the Elantra at least drives decently and gives you alot of stuff for your money.

The high-end Civic matches the Elantra and costs $3k more.

Um, the Civic SI is the top of the line Civic. Get your facts straight.
