Sprintpcs share a plan only for 49.99 in certain areas, It's not 69.99 anymore

Right now sprint has a deal for people who are sharing the same plan. It's available only in limited areas (michigan, washington D.C etc). If you are sharing the same plan you don't have to pay extra 10$ per phone. So if you are getting the 49.99 plan you will pay only 49.99 for both the phones. You don't pay 69.99. If you share 3 phones then it's 74.99 with 1000 anytime minutes and 2000 offpeak minutes. This plan is expiring on Nov 3rd. So hurry up if you are sharing the plan. You can call this number and ask for the details. 877-690-2229

I just called and asked about this plan. they said this is for business account.
they need some tax id?

is there possible that i can get this for peronal use? can you give more infor plz.
1000 anytime minutes and 2000 offpeak minutes sounds good.. plz tell me detail

You can call the sprintpcs customerservice and ask them about the family plan promotion they are running right now. I don't have the number on hand now. This is a promotion they are running in only 3 areas of the country. It's being advertised in the detroit area. You can try calling 1-888-788-4727.

I just called 877-690-2229 and they seem to be telemarketing reps who are outsourced to Sprint PCS, either that or Sprint PCS reps (still) suck badly.

Anyhow I asked what they're currently offering in the Portland, Oregon area for a "family plan" with 2 phones? 450 daytime minutes, 2,550 nighttime/weekend minutes for $49.99 no thanks. I use my cell phone most of the time during the weekday business hours and splitting 450 minutes between 2 phones is REALLY stretching it.

So I'd rather pay $30 more, $40 per phone and get VoiceStream's 500 daytime minutes with 1,000 weekend minutes.

I just called the number Rossman shows, and it confirms the plan we currently have (in San Diego).

The $49.99 for 3k minutes does NOT include the $10 PER PHONE monthly charge. So, if two lines are sharing the minutes, the total cost is $69.99.

The rep didn't ask for my zip code, so I don't think it varies by market.

Would be GREAT if there was some way to eliminate the $10 per phone charge.

BTW: Be REAL careful with usage on the second line. There is NO WAY to separate out the any time and night/weekend minutes - either through *4 or the web site. We were burned badly last month following the ticker on the web site for the primary phone.
Seriously considering bumping up to the $74.99 plan, which becomes $94.99 for two phones - still a pretty good deal.

If they ask for your tax ID number, just remember that this has the same number of digits as your social security number. You can give them that if you want. They won't use whatever number you give them, though, so there's not much of a disincentive to make up a number with 9 digits.

That said, from my experience and from what I've heard, Sprint PCS is the worst cell phone provider in terms of customer service, billing errors and dropped calls. I'm waiting for a better deal from Verizon or Nextel.

I just tried calling both numbers, and they seemed to have never heard of any family plans that didn't have the $10 add-a-phone charge. The only thing they mentioned was a Sprint PCS cell-to-cell promo for 3 months free, then $10/month and that one of the $10 add-a-phone charges would be free with a 1-year agreement. Also, they have promo packages with new amounts of n/w minutes. I'm considering:

74.99 (1000 Anytime and 6500 n/w)
1 yr. agreement (primary phone add-a-phone free)
$10 (2nd phone add-a-phone)
$10 (Sprint pcs to sprint pcs calls w/ first 3 months free)
25% off w/ Boeing employee discount (still pays to be a boeing employee - as long as I still have a job)

grand total is about $73 / month... minus the $40 reimbursement from my girlfriend's job for the 500 minutes she uses per month

leaves me about 4-500 hundred anytime, bunch of n/w, and a bunch of cell-to-cell for $33

(and I griped about 2 weeks ago and got sent kyocera 6035's for me and my girlfriend... I'm actually beginning to like sprint)

If anyone gets this "no add-a-phone charge" thing to work, please post more details. Take good notes when you do it so the rest of us will have a fool-proof blueprint.

I hate their cryptic billing system. They definitely have these hidden charges all over the place. I'm tempted to call my state fraud comissioner because they are so sneaky. When I signed up for my plan they told me it would be $49.99 for the two phones, there was a $10 charge but it was waived for being on a 1yr contract. Turns out there are 2 $10 charges one for the main plan and one for the secondary phone.

Then you get your bill and they have all these charges and credits all over the place so trying to find out what plan you are really on takes a bunch of investigation.

Oh well, I've got it pretty much figured out now and I won't be changing anytime soon... maybe in 1yr when the contract is up.

There is a 49.99 plan without the 10$ surcharge per phone. It's a special they are running in detroit and 2 other areas in the country. This deal is expiring on nov 3rd. I switched to this plan after seeing the deatils in the sprintpcs store. When I called the customer service they don't have a clue about this plan. But when I mentioned that I saw it in the sprintpcs store then they said that it's available and switched me to that plan. AFter hearing about the plan from me, Couple of my friends also switched to this plan without any problems .

I think I have figured out the source of all of the confusion.

SprintPCS is rolling out new plans that do offer more minutes and some that eliminate the the $10 per phone charge for shared plans. HOWEVER - as stated in other threads - there is some nasty news in the fine print. For example: Nights and weekends will begin at 9pm instead of 8pm for the new plans - something we DON'T LIKE 🙁 Check the Sprint PCS website for the details.

So, if you would like to keep the features of your current plan, or upgrade under the current terms, you must sign or update your contract before November 3, or you will miss the boat!
