sprint text messaging (short mail messages)

i don't get it, it doesn't state nowhere on their page how much it costs per text message. how does this service work?

I use it with Cingular, and it is either $0.10/message (sent or received) or you can get much better deals by signing up for monthly messaging allowances. I have the 100 messages for $2.99/Month and that works good for me.

I would think it would be similar costs for Sprint.

I believe you get 50 free each month. Well, on my two-year old plan at least.

If you already have an account, you can log on and it will show how many you have available.

thanks, i just checked my account it said i used 8 minutes of wireless web...

AFAIK all data features of the Sprint phones are charged by the minute, not per use.

Yep, you must use the wireless web to send a text message. It blows. Half the time I get a server unavailable error too. I just wish Sprint would make a real SMS system like 99% of the other companies.

whoa, so how much is it per minute, if i don't subscribe to the service? i emailed them and they just talked about signing up for the service for $5 extra, not even telling how many minutes per month is included for $5...
