Ordered the sprint sero 500 plan with a q9c on thursday.

lady said on friday (i had to finalize the order over the phone) that i have an 80% chance to get it on saturday.

it came tuesday. whatever.

so anyway, the phone is good. on the bill it says 'your new number is..' i knew that was wrong, i entered everything in to port my number. so whatever ill deal with that later

i go to activate the phone, and the guy asks me- "you have the 450 minute standard plan for $40 a month right?"

"uh, no" i say

after over an hour of fuggin around, being on hold for 18min at a time three times altogether, i think they finally straightened it out. a fourth call to CS had to be made to port the number, its hard to get a sprint rep to do more then one thing on a call.

so i shot Sprint an email last night, explaining in brief about what happened, stating im only asking that they double-check to make sure everything is good. They worte back a nice email stating they are very sorry for my experience and they are willing to help me 100%. well see! ;) but so far, so good.

sprint tv still doesnt work, unauthorized user error, but ill wait for the email response on that problem.

you think you got it bad? PFFT!

Oct 15 I place an order for a Centro. I wait a week, no phone. I email and call CS, wait some more, no phone. They won't let me cancel. I place a new order for a Centro. Guess what? I get it two days later and i'm using that now. I wait another two weeks for the original, and then I do a charge back with Visa because Sprint hasnt shipped me anything.

Fast forward to this week. I get a pkg in the mail... OH LOOK ITS A CENTRO! This was for the first order that I placed almost two months ago. I already did a charge back and was credited for this order. I'm not going to hell, so I emailed Sprint telling them I have a phone I havent paid for. I have a feeling theyre gonna make me pay to ship it back or make me drive to the store to return it.

ohhhhh no way in hell i would have said anything;) they screwed it all up, you deserve a free phone!

like i said to myself last night though- as long as sprint does correct errors eventually i can live with poor customer support if the bill is $30 a month.

-SERO plans go through a different helpdesk as opposed to regular plans, and they have separate hours, so that can be a pain in the butt (I switched 3 weeks ago). The regular asian guys aren't equipped to deal with SERO calls and can't help much (can't train a monkey reading a script to do too much). If you have issues with your plan or billing, state that you're a sero customer and ask to be transferred to whoever supports those plans asap. It spares you the runaround. The regular guys are trained to ask about one plan, mainly 'cause they want you to be on it so they can screw you with overages.

-Porting is fairly easy and generally requires waiting on your previous provider, the waiting period is rarely the fault of the new carrier.

-Sprint TV blows IMO, much better to use a slingbox.

-E-care is vastly superior to the asian CS guys. Email any and all non-critical issues. Trust me, its worth it.

SERO customer service is notoriously bad. Once you spend about 24-36 hours on the phone with support and get everything right its certainly worth it. I still can't believe I have unlimited text and unlimited internet for $30/month.

I had a super hard time getting my old number transferred over to my SERO account. But for the super cheap price of $30 a month, and due to the fact I got in when they had the unlimited txting promo, I decided it was worth a little hassle.

well sprint told me in the email reply that sprintTV is not compatible with the MOTO Q

i told them i have a Q9c and it came with sprinttv installed.

he said he was very sorry for the mis-information, and that i should contact sprint by phone to fix the problem.

now that i hear from you guys that sprintTV pretty much sucks, i doubt ill even bother. ORB works pretty well for TV, and its much cheaper then a slingbox although it does tie up my tv downstairs if im watching live tv on the phone...

ps- otherwise im liking the service. the GPS in the q9c is AWESOME. it tracks and finds me inside my house, my puck gps could never do that. windows live search just plain rocks. i still miss my pearl, but even though that phone was 10x superior to this q9c when talking about everyday usability, the q9c can just do so much more then the blackberry it makes the whole deal a tough choice. i miss how easy everything was on the blackberry, namely backing the phone up. but the q9c can stream media sooo much better, its actually usable now.

Sprint TV *DOES* work on the Q9c. I spent several hours watching it last weekend.

As far as backing up your phone...Im not sure, but it's a no brainer...you can either use active sync via PC or look for a program called Sprite.

from what i can tell, this is what happened.

i ordered online. it asked me to finalize by phone.

the phone number it gave me was sprint regular support.

they deleted the order and slapped on a regular expensive plan without telling me (they probably thought it was just an error)

HAD the online order just said to call SERO Customer Care @ 888-882-4030 then everything would have been fine. apparently you can even call that number and place the entire order over the phone. THIS is the number you should be calling if you have or getting a SERO plan!

ps- now, QUICK i need a referral! any sprint employees in here that wants a quick $25? i only have a few days left to sign up, does it need to be an employee?
