Sprint phone recommendations

For the past two years I've been using a Motorola Startac flip phone on the Sprint network.
Reception has been great. Sound quality has been great. And I've had a flawless signal in my apartment.

The phone has gotten banged up, and I replaced it with a Samsung 4200.
Features are cool, but the signal is so shaky that I get disconnected while sitting still in my apartment and sound quality is flaky.

I've got another week to return this phone, and I'm almost positive that I'm going to return it.
I need a new phone for Sprint.

Does anybody know where I can find a new Startac that will work on Sprint? (they've been phased out) I think RadioShack still sells the Timeport which I'm guessing has the same reception as the Startac. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Telstar

p.s. - I'm on contract with Sprint so I'm not switching providers.

If you can afford it, I hear that the new V60 Motorola phone is very nice. I've had great luck with my Motorola, and everyone I know with a Samsung has had sound and reception problems. Try motorola's website, they should have some information about which phones work with PCS.

There's a v60 for PCS in the works, but it's not live on Sprint's network yet unfortunately.

I have a Nokia xxxx(whatever) with AT&T. Reception stinks but I don't really care because my cheapass employer pays for it.

Sanyo SCP 6000

I have this phone and it is great. Wonderful reception, good sound quality, great features, OK battery life, and its the thinnest phone available in the US.

<< Dump Sprint PCS (unless you can get in on these rates) >>

Hehe... I was the FIRST one to GET those rates. I told somebody here, and he started a thread about it. :)

Cool and thanks for doing that. If I weren't locked into a 1 year contract with VoiceStream Wireless I'd sign up with Sprint PCS. 650/3000 for $34.99 (maybe $29.99) is an AWESOME rate!

Yeah, I get 650/3000 with wireless web for $35.00 - 25% discount because my employer has a deal for $26.25 a month.
