This is a great deal for those that are looking to connect those SPRINT PHONES they got.

Sprint 250 anytime and 1250 Nights & weekend minutes total 1500minutes for $34.99 is still GOOD. You get free Long Distance. Only thing they are not offering is the 6 month FREE WEB Messaging thing that expired on 1/14/01.
I just converted my 29.99 plan to 34.99 1/20/01 and they said it was extended for a few more weeks. If i were you i would HURRY.

For those with Sprint PCs service dial *2 send its FREE.

If you goto the STORES they said it expired but if you call up sprint directly its still valid.

Here is link to SPRINT'S site.

Goodluck
Purvin :)

Been waiting on hold for almost an hour to switch my service. Maybe it's not that hot of a deal but thanks :)

Raizer,
Yes, you need to sign a 1-year contract. I guess there will be better plans within a year but 1500 minutes is more than what one can normally consume in a month. I on average rarely go over 300.

Didn't someone say a while back that there are discounts on Sprint PCS service for UPS employees?

I am thinking of getting this. What is the best deal on a phone for this if I can't get the OD deal?

Thanks.

Just got my Samsung bargain digital phone from OfficeDepot...
($30-something marked down from $160), so now I'm considering
actually subscribing to Sprint PCS.

Anyone know if this deal is still good? If not, what's the
best deal out there on Sprint PCS?

Anyone? Is this deal still good, or is there a particularly
good deal available for Sprint PCS right now (already checked
their Web site; looking for something better than that). I have
a Samsung 6100 phone just burning a hole in my head :)

Just call Sprint at 1-888-211-4727 and ask about the deal. I called about a week ago and was told that the deal was over. But after they checked in their computers, they told me that they could still give it to me.

I just got off the phone with them and although they said the deal expired on Jan 14th I asked if they could check to see if they could offer it to me and they did.

Before you do anything, look at AT&T wirless. I just got 250 minutes anytime/3000 minutes night and weekend for $29.99 and free wireless web that doesn't use your minutes. Perty sweet if you are in their area. Plus, the phone was $80 minus $50 Erikkson rebate and an AT&T $30 rebate = free.

On my second attempt with a Sprint Customer Care rep (1-888-211-4727) I was also able to change to the "expired" holiday promotion. Apparently, there are two online systems any Sprint Customer Care rep can access: On one, the holiday promotion is unavailable; on the other system, it's still operative. Have any Customer Care rep who claims the holiday promotion is over check his/her "other system" (...and success is likely).

250 Anytime
1250 Night/Weekends (8pm -7am, Mon-thru-Thur + Friday-8pm thru 7am-Mon)
Free Long Distance
$34.99/mo...1-yr agreement

(...goes into affect beginning of next billing cycle)

Regarding the ATT Wireless Promotion:

<< New activations on AT&T Digital Advantage and AT&T Regional Advantage Calling Plans receive additional Night and Weekend minutes every month for the first six or twelve months as follows: AT&T Digital Advantage $29.99 and $39.99 receive 3000 additional night and weekend minutes included for 6 months. AT&T Digital Advantage $49.99 and above receive 3000 additional night and weekend minutes included for 12 months. AT&T Regional Advantage $29.99 and $39.99 receive 1000 additional night and weekend minutes included for 6 months. AT&T Regional Advantage $49.99 and above receive 1000 additional night and weekend minutes per month included for 12 months. Included and promotional minutes cannot be carried over to any other month. Promotional and included minutes apply only to airtime used in your Home Calling Area; applicable long distance and roaming charges additional. If you migrate to another calling plan during the first year of service you may lose your eligibility for the additional minutes. Night airtime is from 8:00 p.m. to 6:59 am Monday - Friday, and weekends beginning Friday 8:00 p.m. through Monday 6:59 a.m.; plus New Year's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Offer valid through 2/14/01. May not be available with other promotions. Other restrictions may apply. >>

Free phone after rebates is nice.

What about roaming? Don't you ever consider travelling? I travel all the time and never ever have to worry about roaming if I am in a city.

Lets see if this quoting thing works..Nope, it doesn't. For the person who bought the ericson phone, a person in my class has it and it sucks. Sure, you get free wireless internet, but the phone is still a piece of crap. Plain and simple. Buy a samsung or a motorola.

Anyone know if this deal (if it isn't gone, seems to be some
confusion about that) allows an add-a-phone option? Some
SprintPCS plans allow add-a-phone for $10 a month...

Purvin, you are right.
I had activated my Motorola Timeport(Thanks OD;) on Jan 21, at which time they only offered 200 anytime min and 800 weeknights and weekend min. But then I found out that did not come with Long distance min. So I called again to change it to 200 anytime and 300 w/n and w/e min with LD. Now when I called the CSR said he has a new offer for 200 anytime and 800 w/n and w/e min with LD. When I asked him if he can check for the 250/1250 with LD, he said first expired, but then when I insisted to check another system, sure enough, he found it.
So, beginning my next billing cycle 02/21, I will have 250 anytime min and 1250 w/n and w/e min all with LD. I donot know what will I do with that all 1250 w/e and w/n min....
Also, CSRs are not able to see the $50 service check offer in their system. This offer does not require and mail-in forms to be sent. It just requires the phone to be purchased from CompUSA/OM/OD/Staples/Wards/Dillards between 1/14/01 and 3/3/01 and activated by 3/17/01 for a plan at or above $29.99. Also you need to sign the one yr sprint agreement for the $50 service check. If you did not sign the agreement you get $30 service check.
Anyone had this service check mailed to them???

Hey Dealux:

Did they charge you a $30 activation fee when you started your
first plan? I've heard that although Sprint's site indicates
this is a standard charge, your salesperson has the authority
to remove it if they want...

Hey people, anyone knows if it is still possible to get this 250/1250 minutes deal for $35? I am waiting for my TimePorts to come in tomorrow (Friday 2/9) and Sprint's current deal 400/1600 minutes for $50 is probably way more then I need. Another question: was anyone able to "wave" the activation fee while signing up directly through Sprint (not through any store)? I think it's a bs charge and wanna try to get out of it. Thanks for any info!

Kwad,

The add a phone deal only applies to plans $49.95 and up. My wife and I were going to try this, but bumping up to a $49.95 plan and adding $10 for the second phone made it expensive enough that we both just did the $34.95 plan seperately. Of course, now that the $34.95 bonus plan gives exactly half the $49.95 bonus plan minutes, I think the add a phone deal with $49.95 bonus plan is a little better.
