Sprint: No more locked bloatware apps on our devices

Sprint has gone the other direction entirely, allowing users to remove the pre-installed apps and replace them with apps of their own choosing. The EVO 3D does not come with a relatively high number of carrier-loaded apps to begin with, but the few that are there can be selectively removed by the end-user (with the exception of Sprint ID). Sprint says that it intentionally did this in response to consumer feedback, and that it looks to continue the practice in the future, though there is no policy on the matter at this point in time. Sprint is the only carrier that we are aware of (in the U.S. at least) that allows users to uninstall apps that come loaded on an Android smartphone.

I think The Droid was the only verizon device to not include Blur and loads of crap.
I like the direction Sprint is going.

I think Sprint is trying to be the smartphone owner's dreamland. Unlimited data and this.
They have good signal around here with decent WiMax coverage. I'll stick with them for a while.

Sprints making themselves look wervy to good to those that can't get what they want fro Verizon. Unlimited data. a decent selection of smartphones, and cheaper prices.

I think the iPhone is inevitable too. It just makes sense.

I suspect they'll announce the iPhone on Sprint when the new model is released, the mid cycle Verizon launch put a lot of people off...

Also, anyone else notice the loosening of manufacturers stranglehold on Android came after Android's massive growth started to slow?

Moto, HTC, and Samsung have all lightened up on their restrictions...

Moto, HTC, and Samsung have all lightened up on their restrictions...

I don't know about the others but with HTC it was a blip when they started to lock things down. For most of their history they have been pretty loose about locking their phones.

In fact I'd say it was the opposite with them.
