i've been having problems with my dsl disconnecting me pretty frequently. i try to do the live chat with them and they tell me to call when it happens. well, yeah, waiting 30+ minutes isn't fun. rebooting the modem fixes it.

so it happens tonight and i call. 23 minute wait. i don't touch anything while i'm waiting. guy asks me to ry the connection and it works now.

he runs some test and finds that my modem is receiving like 35,000 errors a day. he says usually its like 2 per hour for a normal connection. when it reaches so many errors it locks up or whatever and rebooting clears it. but since it starts working on its own sometimes, he is completely baffled. everything tests out fine so he tells me that they have to send a technician out to check the line and jack and stuff.

he also says there's not much we can do other than this. so what if the line checks out ok here? am i stuck with this crappy service or what? too bad sprint is the only broadband provider available around here.

I had the exact same experience with sprint dsl. Again and again it would work for a while and then stop. About a week ago, I finally talked them into upgrading my 645 modem for a 660 series modem. So far I havent had any trouble at all. I wish that sprint had changed my modem out a long time ago.
