I'd take a tiered data plan if Sprint offered it. I use 4g data at work and wifi at home, so the only 3g I really use is a little bit while waiting for the metro and maybe some random trips where I'm out there and need to find a local business.

But yeah, my $10 upcharge is gone, but was on my last bill (which I just paid). So I guess we'll find out for real if it appears on the Feb bill.

There is a screw up in the billing system somewhere. It's only happening on single line plans, family plans are still showing the fee. Either they mistakenly took it off singe lines or they haven't gotten it to take it off family plans. I'm sure it'll sort itself out this week one way or the other.

That extra $10 is why I did not go with sprint and the evo4g...ended up doing the HD2 NAND thing, which is working great by the way !!!

Still missing from mine

I guess I'll find out next billing cycle.

Maybe this is to make up for them fucking us over by not grandfathering premiere customers? I was looking forward to upgrading my evo this summer, now I gotta wait another year

Just checked my sero plan. I have a 40 minimum charge since I have blackberry, however good news is that I found out that I have free spring navi. I had no idea lol.

Maybe I am misreading this, and I don't really have a problem with data tiers, but I don't understand what you are saying. You think 4g wouldn't be tiered, just 3g? I would assume if they tiered data Sprint would not differentiate between the two, just as the changed their 4g fee to a smartphone fee.

I'm saying I'd take a tiered plan, all else equal. Right now, Wimax usage on sprint is not metered. The 5gb cap is for 3g data use only.

Basically, im imparting some wishful thinking that 4g would remain unmetered, or at least not capped.

I just talked to a rep on the chat and he said effective Jan 30 is when the 10 ripoff tax is mandatory on all smart phones. When i try to do and upgrade then I will get that fee on my bill.

Didn't know they didn't meter 4G, thanks for the info.
