Wow, hit wrong button first time..

Sprint as a whole has me ALL pissed off.
PCS - Signed up for a contract for a new snazzy PCS phone. Cant get service unless I'm under the damned tower. And, to boot, I cant receieve calls while roaming!! The PCS tech explains "Well, sometimes signal strength" Bullsh!t I tell her. ANYWHERE I'm roaming I CANT receive calls!!
Bottom line. PCS service is teh suck.

Local. The little crap on the phone signed me up for stuff I didnt want. Flat out did NOT give me what I asked for. Bottom line, my bill now includes like 6 different add ons I did NOT want.

Sprint as a whole can suck it.

Thats what is so bizarre about cell phones, in some cities, Sprint rules, in others it sucks.

All mobile phone services have the same problems.

Thats why I originally got it. In my hometown, it does fairly well. As well as any other company from what I can tell. But jeez, get 20 miles outside of the city..... Lets just say good thing my wife has Cingular for her cell phone.

Oh yeah, and the REALLY ironic thing... Well... Lets just say as a whole, I'm fairly satisfied with Sprint as an employer

I had PCS way back when they didn't require contracts. That was the major reason I got it. Once they started having contracts like everybody else I decided I didn't want to deal with them anymore. Plus, their coverage here sucks.

Verizon, as a whole, has me pretty satisfied. Obviously, it?s not that hard for a company to staff the customer service phones well enough for them to pick up with an average hold time of, oh say, 3 seconds, yet Sprint PCS still doesn?t grasp that concept (the longest I?ve ever waited was about a minute or two, right at 5 PM).

Sprint has capacity issues in a few little zones in my city, including my neighborhood. They do provide a good signal in most places in the city, but they still frustrate a person in the suburbs.

sprint service wasn't bad for me when I had them
for 2 years.

2 Major complaints :

1.

Too many taxes, extra fees on the bill. Really
pissed me off!!

2.

If you want to pay your bill in the
store they charge you an extra $5
fee? FOR WHAT?! Thats the most
ridiculous sh!t they do.

As far as coverage, signal and stuff I can't really complain on that. However
my calls on a touchpoint tp1100 dropped WAAAY too much. Most likely
because it was a sh!tty single band phone.

Ok, I've got a very stupid question for you guys as I live in Alaska and we only have one company (ACS) here that owns ALL of the cell towers in the whole state. There are several cell companies, but they just get their coverage through leasing ACS's towers. So, if you don't get a signal on a certain spot, it doesn't matter what company you get your service from...

I assume that isn't the norm for the rest of the USA? Does each cell company (Verizon, Spring, etc.) have their own cell towers? Will your phone not use the other companies towers when needed for roaming?

Like I said, please forgive the stupid questions as my only experience with a cell has been here in AK.

where do you live?

These were two phones with two different people. Another had it as well but I only heard here say it "sucked" once. THe other two jsut wouldn't shut up about how bad it was...

Northern Virginia/Washington D.C. and Southern Maryland.

In phili my roomate had it and service was NOTHING compared to my Verizon.

Once again..verizon has never failed me from under the harbour tunnel to at the Washingto Monument to in a 40-story Skyscaper in center-city philadelphia(worked well in the stairwells too!)

THe only and I mean ONLY place where service is finiky us in my basement where I am right now as it is surrounded in concrete. The siganal is 1-2bars;) (out of 3)

They may charge more per minute, but damn if it isn't good...

SPRINT will lose my business when my contract expires. They suck monkey balls.

1) Gave me a non-PCS Vision plan when I had signed a contract for one, then charged for my Vision usage. Said they'd credit my account but did not.
2) Applied for the USAA discount but it didn't show up until a month later.
3) I decided to cancel my Vision service after the free trial period but they did not and charged me the $10. Said they'd credit but did not.
4) There is like a PCS hole where I live and as a whole, reception sucks. Not free and clear anywhere!

Will likely switch to Verizon or T-Mobile next.
