I recently did the whole Sprint redemption service thing and got a weird offer

$170 phone credit :) nice!

$34.99 for 500 mins and nights starting at 8 ..... nice!

BUT!

i noticed they are charging $4/month for ringers and more

and $10/month for wireless web...... and i think this is NOT part of the Vision plan or whatever

I recently tried out the A500 phone and loved all the featuers, but hated its battery life and its ringers and stuff.....

I heard you can fix the battery life by buying an extended battery, but I want to take advantage of some 3rd party website that are hosting ringers/wallpapers........... do i need a Vision capable plan?

I think when I asked, they wouildn't give it to me under the retention plan

anyone have experience with all of this?

BTW: The $10 a month is for Vision. You don't have to use their ringers/games though. There are many 3rd party sites popping up with free ringers and such. The ringers and games are charged by the piece as I understand it.

i'm more of a flip phone fan, but i don't like the Sanyo 5150 at all

How about the LG 5350? I hear they're pretty good phones.

I'm speaking only in terms of signal strength and overall call quality. The phones themselves are all fairly rugged, Samsung and Sanyo being higher quality builds. Don't let me tell ya what phone to buy. I just speak from some personal experience and the opinions of others, IRL or otherwise.

The Sanyo 5300 looks excellent.

Agreed completely. I'm waiting with cc in hand for this phone to come out. Looks like I'll have it by Thanksgiving, phone God willing:D

i'm really not into the taking pictures with my phone thing

I think my choices are Samsung A500 and LG 5350, but my experience with the a500 is leading me away from it

i've seen third party sites that offer pics/ringers, but do they work with all Vision enabled phones or just the a500?

They focus on the A500 b/c it is currently the most popular phone but for the most part they will work with any Vision phone either with or without minor complications.

Spooner, how did you manage to get a $170 equipment credit? I could only pull $100.
