Spring oil change special at Advance

Advance Auto Parts / Carquest is running a sale on Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Oil (5 Qts Jug) with a Mobil 1 Oil Filter
for only $29.99 + tax .. I think the sale runs for a couple more weeks. Excellent price for that. Walmart would have the oil for about $25.50 filter would be extra and they do not have the Mobil 1 Filter (which normally goes for about $13 each)

There's also a rebate from Mobil:

Advance Auto isn't listed, but Carquest is. I think they'll still honor it from Advance.

I plan on getting 2x Mobil1 Full Synthetic High Mileage and 2x Mobil1 filters for $60 total. Then use my $20 off $50+ Speed Perks, and submit the rebate for another $24 off. $16 doesn't seem like a bad deal...

Edit - Here is a list of all the oil change specials... Mobil1 Extended Performance bundle might work for some as well, comes out to the same net price after rebate.

I did buy it at Carquest ... they merged with Advance Auto .. not sure who bought who, but they are now the same. Good info on that rebate, I just finished filling out the form, scanning in the receipt and sending it in. Should be good for $15 sent back to me --- nice, inexpensive oil change this time .. $32 at the store, less $15 means $17 total cost.

The $15 off seems to be eligible with extended performance filter, is that what you got? Wonder if they'll honor any filter...

I might just get the extended performance bundle since all my local Advance Auto stores are out of stock of the regular filters, and the end price will be the same...

Mobil 1 Filter M-101 which is what Mobil 1 says is the correct one for the 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8 Vin K motor .. Just checked the box, yes it is the Extended Performance Filter

I bought the same items from Fleet Farm and paid $27.99 for the oil and $11.99 for the filter. The $15.00 rebate form has been sent in.

Advance / Carquest had the Oil and the Filter (both Mobil 1) for $29.99 plus tax .. never heard of Fleet Farm

What's so special about a Mobil 1 filter? Sounds like they're playing off the success and brand name of the oil. $30 is about the same as I normally pay for Mobil 1 and the OEM filters I buy by the dozen online.

They are one of the best performing filters out there. You can check for reviews on them.

I get a normal oil change for $17, and somebody else does the work.

I didn't realize synthetic was so much more. (Never bothered to look.)

My 17 year old car needs synthetic, there are no conventionals in the viscosity it uses. Not sure what even still uses conventional oil?

A lot of new cars, especially from GM come from the factory with full synthetic oil. It is all I will put in my cars and have been doing so for quite a while now. Well worth the extra cost for the better engine protection.

Bought myself 2x 5qt jugs of M1 HM and 2x M1 oil filters for $43 after Speed Perks discount. Then I sent in the $30 rebate.

Too bad my Trans Am needs 5.5qt of oil, so I had to buy the $7 single quart from Walmart... Comes out to about $14 per oil change.

My '07 Focus uses 5W-20, which several companies apparently still make out of Dinosaur.

Pennzoil's oil finder offers non-synthetic options that "meets requirements" for several recent cars I searched for (picked at random.)

If a car comes with synthetic, you'd want to keep using that, I suppose.

I called to check if the rebate is good with Advance Auto since they are not on the participating retailer list. CSR told me that the rebate is good for any b&m store that sells oil. Excluded this time are online purchases made at online stores only, i.e., Amazon and Jet.
Redeem online. Limit two rebates per household. Submit here: https://apfco.com/secure/R8235W/ Submit twice for 2 rebates.
Check status of rebate here: http://mobil.rebateresearch.com/
I also used a $20. rebate gift card and a $5. off $20. purchase Speed Perk discount code. The $29.99 AAP's deal is good until Apr 26, 2017.
