It was around 60 degrees here today; went out hiking in the metroparks.

Three days ago I did the same hike through about a foot of snow.

Too bad it won't stay this nice; I'd love to do a camping trip in January in shorts. 😀
 
Here too. Most of the roads are completely down to pavement now, even my driveway is down to the cement. Noticed part of the roofs you can see shingles even. I can even see lawn in some places. Never have I seen it melt this fast in January. Though we barely had any snow to begin with.

Global warming has been happening very fast in the past years. It's actually pretty scary. You'd expect these changes to happen on a span of hundreds of years, but it's been more like 10-15 years that winters have been much shorter. It's been accelerating even more in past couple years. Last winter we had an early spring too but it was around March.

Most people see this as a positive thing and don't see the big picture, so nobody really cares about reducing emissions and stuff.

I sure as hell would not go on that ice right now LOL. Back in the day when winters were more stable that lake would be full of fishing huts though.
 
It was 54 around here. Very nice day I took out my bike and was surprised it started right up after being covered outside for months.
 
Bleh. I was born in Louisiana, but I'd love to live somewhere with huge mountains and bitter cold. I think it's been below freezing about two nights here this fall/winter.

i only care about global warming because i hate hot weather. 100 degree humid days in the summer, and no winter relief, really annoys me.

ugh yeah pretty much. We've already been getting more regular +25C's here in summer. Not fun if you need to do any kind of yard work. Saw a couple +30 days. Hits you like a wall. The worse is when I went south (Toronto area) and I saw +39C. THAT was a killer. I'd hate to see that being the regular temp here. You sweat buckets even sitting down in shade, it's brutal hot.

Specific weather anomalies are 10-20 degrees. AGW is, at most, 1 degree.

You have a signal to noise problem with any attempt to form that argument.

No clue what that's suppose to mean, but I'm not trying to form an argument, I'm just stating fact. You cannot deny that in the past years it's been getting much warmer overall, and we've been seeing much more weather abnormalities such as this. Let's not get into the fact that the ice caps have been melting at an alarming rate.
