We know for a fact that the biggest factor in current climate change is the drastic change we've caused in atmospheric composition.

Climate change is bad why? We had global warming 400 years ago. Went from cold temperatures to current warm temperatures. I didn't see anyone complaining then.

OK, it's BS, although ice caps melting does have geologic effects that probably has no major impact on volcanism. What does that have to do with spring arriving earlier and earlier?

Because the rate is higher than normal, because we've increased CO2 concentration by 40%. That means two major things. 1) Human caused climate change will cause a mass extinction because species can't evolve fast enough and can't change their ranges quickly enough, especially with the massive amount of deforestation. 2) The climate will go from being ideal for humans to not ideal, in a matter of hundreds instead of thousands of years.


If you don't get the rate thing, consider this. Every month your wife bleeds at a certain rate. If one month she bleeds at 100x that rate, do you say "You bleed every month" and refuse to take her to the hospital? No, because then you'd be a dumbass. I remember 1997 being incredibly warm even during the coldest parts of winter. I remember it because half of the science fair entries were about El Nino. Next year all of the entries were about La Nina. 1998 sucked.

LOL This, in spades. Weather (and therefore climate, which is nothing more than the integral of weather over time and space) changes constantly. In the seventies and early eighties I was a true believer in the coming man-made ice age. The world was getting colder, plant hardiness zones were moving south, citrus groves were abandoned due to the hard frosts encroaching southward. Not surprisingly, the answers for man-made global cooling were the same as for man-made global warming - smaller houses, no private cars, artificially expensive energy, and above all soul crushing government power.
