I landed on somebody's foot while playing volleyball and twisted my ankle exactly 6 days ago. For 72 hours afterwards I iced and elevated religiously. I've gotten a ton of rest as well. But for some reason the swelling has stayed about constant since about day 3, which was worse than day 2. No pain whatsoever, but I've been taking ibuprofen to keep the swelling down. I'm told it shouldn't be so swollen anymore.. what else can I do?

In my experience sprained ankles take a long time for the swelling to go down. I sprained mine by stepping in a hole last Wednesday and it's still swollen, not much pain but swollen.

You'll need to employ some exercises in order to strengthen the ankle again, otherwise, it'll be prone to re-injury.

If you're not seeing a physical therapist, there are a number resources out there showing how to do these exercises on your own.
