The problem is you are assuming that the average person is going to actually do the math, or is even capable of doing it. That's where you are wrong. People have been trained like sheep to immediately assume that the higher price gives them the better deal. The thing is they aren't going to actually multiply 2 single digits together to actually check if it is or not.

ok some one explain.. 6 for 5 is 1.20 each

12 for 10 is 1.20 each..

Gets people to buy more, same as the local supermarket that has Hot Pockets regularly $2.50 a box. But when they're on "sale" 4 for $10 they sell way more. I have seen this with my own times many times. Some people simply do not compute numbers well. So I guess to them the 12 for 10 seems like a better deal in their head. I'm sure KFC did this deliberately to generate more sales.

someone needs to create a web page calculator for this deal, so that we can put in how many we want (like if i buy 13, how much $ will it cost?) and it'll tell me the price

They still do.. There are quite a few KFC Buffets around here. Its like 8$ for unlimited chicken, sides, and whatever else

We have one out here, but it's fail. No strips and no popcorn chicken. And no all you can eat mashed potato bowls. Damn, I haven't had one of those in a long ass time I wonder if they still even offer them?

*LUNCH TIME!*

That's not too bad... I have seen many instances of "3 for $4.99, 6 for $9.99"
Because of the infatuation with the price ending in .99, the larger deal costs 1 cent more.

It's amusing to order it as "I'll get 3 of these and 3 of these" and see if it gets run in for $9.99. "No! That's not what I ordered!" Confuse the clerk for a bit. (Unless you're holding up a line of people.)
