Sportsbook.com.... What a joke.

A friend of mine told me about a website which still allowed gambling for money (based in Canada, I think).

I go to the site and check it out -- They've got all kinds of table games, poker, sports bets, etc.

I decide to sign up -- During the sign up form, there is a space for a promotional code. I do a quick google, and find one for $50 free, "EXPERTS50".

After registration is complete, my balance is still $0. I figure that it takes some time, so I decide to make a deposit. While I'm in the middle of the deposit form, I notice another area for a promo code. I do another google real quick and find another promocode "DOCS50". This time it works -- I got my actual deposit of $50, plus the bonus from the code, making my total $100.

A week later I run out of money and decide to do another deposit -- I try a few random codes but none of them work (gave me invalid code errors), so I decide to use the one I used originally which never paid out (EXPERTS50). The transaction goes through, but my balance is only $50... I didn't get the money from the promo code.

I email their tech support requesting the $50, or at least a refund so I can use a different code. Now I've dealt with bad email support, but this brings it to a new level. These people have got to be the biggest morons on the planet, because EVERY time I send an email, I get a response which sounds like they are in first grade -- On top of that, each email I receive is from a NEW REP who seems to have NO UNDERSTANDING of all the previous correspondence.

Here is the email string, skip it if it's too long.

SB: "Can you please reply to this email with more details on this bonus? Where did you receive the promtoion code? We appreciate your co-operation."
Me: "A friend gave me the promotion code, so I didn't get a chance to do any research on it. Like I said before, if the code isn't actually valid, I would please just like the opportunity to use a different code for the $50 deposit I put in last night. "
SB: "Unfortunatley you will have to contact us specifying what bonus it is you are entitled to. Without this information we will not be able to review your account to see if anything is due."
Me: "I was aware of two separate codes enrolling in Sportsbook.com. When I originally created my account, I entered the code: "EXPERTS50", which was supposed to give me an extra $50. When I logged into my account I didn't have any credits so I deposited credits -- During this deposit of money, I was requested for another promo code. This time, I entered the other code I knew of: "DOCS50". After this transaction was complete, it successfully showed the correct amount of credits: $100. ($50 initial deposit + $50 bonus from DOCS50). I have done two transactions now, over a course of a week or two, and I never received the bonus from EXPERTS50. "
SB: "We have received notification that you entered an incorrect promotional code on your last deposit.
Could you please confirm in a response to this email that the promotional code used was EXPERTS50?"
Me: "I'm not completely sure what you are asking, however, I am positive I entered both codes "EXPERTS50" and "DOCS50" but only received one bonus.
SB: "We write to inform you that you received $50 on Nov 27 unfortunately you do not qualify for a bonus at this moment. Please do not feel disheartened by this, remember you can always request your account to be reviewed again in a near future."
Me: "Yes, I received the initial $50, but not the other $50.
What do you mean I don't qualify for a bonus? I entered two bonus codes, and each was said to be a bonus for $50. What did I do wrong?"
SB: "Please confirm the promocode used while making the deposit."
Me: "I used EXPERTS50 and DOCS50, but only got $50 for one of the two."
SB: "Your account has been credited with the $50 for the $50 dposit made on Tue Nov 27 2007 . The promocode was for that particular deposit."
Me: "I USED TWO SEPARATE PROMO CODES, BUT WAS ONLY CREDITED FOR ONE."
SB: "You can use only one promocode for a deposit. You had been credited for one of the promocodes used."
Me: **At this point, I wrote a long email explaining the whole situation, start-to-end, similar to what I wrote at the beginning of this post**
SB: "You have already received the Experts50 bonus upon signup at Tue Nov 27 2007 9:02 PM. Do you have any further query regarding this?"
Me: "As I have mentioned numerous time in my other messages: I USED TWO PROMOTIONAL CODES, BUT ONLY RECEIVED PAYMENT FOR ONE."
SB: "Can you please confirm the the other bonus code you used? Experts50 has been confirmed as one of teh bonus codes. That as you are aware has been credited to your account. Simply reply to this email stateing the other bonus code and we will attempt to assist you further."
Me: "DOCS50"
SB: "Sorry for any inconvenience caused in relation to this issue, but the promotional code DOC50 is only for your first deposit on sportsbook.com. Please view our promotions page for the latest promotions that we are offering."
Me: **I explain that DOCS50 was used on my initial deposit and that I already got money for it**
SB: "Apologies should there have been any confusion regarding this issue.
However, please note that no customer is eligible to receive both the EXPERTS50 and the DOCS50 bonus. A customer may claim one of these or neither.
You have already been credited all bonuses due and are not eligble for any further credit."
Me: **Head explode**.

0/10.

You don't specify where these bonuses came from, only somewhere on the internet. So them not giving you the bonus makes sense if the promotion isn't running anymore or if you don't qualify for it. I don't expect free money from every random assortment of text I find on the internet.

Both codes are valid.

I skipped a lot of the wall of support text, but why would you think you'd be able to use multiple codes? I don't use any gambling sites - so they might be different - but codes/promos like that are always for new accounts, in my experience.

They allow one code per deposit.

Just for the record, it's not the $50 that bothers me. The email string I posted is literally about 2 weeks of correspondence with these morons asking me the same questions over and over -- that's what got me.

Be quiet and be happy they gave you a free $50 at all, and learn how to gamble better anyway.

EXACTLY. After TWO weeks of emails EVERY day. Is it really so hard to understand that no rep could give me that info until today?

What the fuck are you smoking? If you hit the lottery then someone steals half your money and the cops tell you "stfu and be happy you have half of it" would you be cool with it?

I'm fine with not receiving the second code, but it shouldn't have accepted it if it wasn't valid. Also, if not valid, I should have been informed at the beginning, not after two weeks of arguing.

Actually, according to your OP, no... they don't.

Still, once I get past that, I understand your frustration. They should have clued into what your misunderstanding sooner; somewhere near or on the second email.

Don't be a jackass, you still haven't explained why you never called the company rather than do this back-and-forth crap for two weeks.

Oh, my mistake, I didn't know I needed to explain that.

I don't have a phone -- Good enough answer?

Skype's cheap. Well, at least cheaper than the $50 you just lost gambling.

You're acting like they stole your money. It wasn't yours to begin with. They GAVE you $50 and you pissed it away within a week. They probably did you a favor because apparently you suck at gambling

Are those tears, Tizyler? Sounds to me like you were shady to begin with, seeing as you flat out LIED to them about where you got the promo code to begin with. So they took awhile to fully understand what you were saying...at least they didn't lie.

Yeah, but after a few emails of miscommunication, wouldn't you have thought of just calling them to get it all straightened out?

I did read your comment on not having a phone but I don't buy that one bit. SB offers a 1-800 #, so there's no reason you don't have a phone.

I'm sure you could have just called them, explained your situation, and have everything resolved in a few minutes.
